Unit 1 - Places and Perspectives: Do you want to be a travel writer? Do you like learning about new and exciting places? In this unit we will ‘travel’ to different countries and cities by looking at some interesting pieces of writing. So, pack your pens and paper, we’re heading on an adventure!
Unit 2 - Communication: Social media allows us to have the world at our fingertips, but have you ever wondered how it all started? In this unit we are going to look at how communication technology developed and how it is changing us.
Unit 3 - Detective Stories: Murder, mystery and mayhem – we are going to learn how to write captivating detective stories. Are you the next Agatha Christie or Arthur Conan Doyle?
Unit 4 - The History of Language: Fish, enough, phonics – why is English so complicated? In this unit we are going on a journey back in time to find out how English developed as a language. With Vikings, famous kings, monsters and legendary battles, this unit has everything young adventurers could hope for.
//Top tips for studying// To make sure you do your best this year, it's important to follow these top tips:- Learn the vocabulary before your lesson each week. You can try testing yourself before the lesson or have someone quiz you.
