//Introduction// Welcome to Grade 11 English! This year we'll be learning lots of fun and fantastic things!

//Topics this year// Here are the interesting topics we'll be studying this year:

Unit 1 - Technology and the future:
We’ll be reading about how technology impacts our lives today, and what interesting, exciting technology may be invented in the future.

Unit 2 - Buildings: We’ll take a look at different famous historical buildings across the world and learn how these amazing structures were built.

Unit 3 - Work and Jobs: We will see how the world of work has changed over the past few years and explore the trends shaping the current job market. We will then prepare ourselves on how to apply for our first jobs!

Unit 4 - Transport: We will be exploring the development of transport over the years and how progress always comes with a price. We’ll also be reporting on local transport issues.

Unit 5 - Mind and body: We will find out about how the mind and body are connected and how they impact one another. We also take a look at the challenges of being a teenager in the modern world.

Unit 6 - Sport and fitness: We’ll investigate the best ways to stay healthy and create our own extreme sport!

Unit 7 - Science: We’ll be learning about some important scientists and scientific discoveries of the past while thinking about how science can be used to improve our lives in the future.

Unit 8 - People and language: We will be taking a look at how language has evolved and the different ways people communicate in this day and age. (memes, emojis, txt messages, etc.)

Unit 9 - The environment: We’ll be exploring some of the different types of problems the environment is facing and what we may be able to do to help.

Unit 10 - Education: We’ll be reflecting on our own educational journeys and what we hope to learn as we prepare to leave high school. Unit 11 - The home: We'll take a look at some home’s around the world and explore some alternative ways of living.

//Top tips for studying// To make sure you do your best this year, it's important to follow these top tips:
  • Learn the vocabulary before your lesson each week. You can try testing yourself before the lesson or have someone quiz you.
  • Do the online vocabulary quiz in the Kiểm tra - Assessment tab.
